The Co-Operative Education program has two intakes a year, September and January.
Our next intake-registration will take place during the week of August 2021
The Co-operative Education program is a non-paid volunteer program that helps students to gain valuable work experience and earn credits at the same time. Co-op students gain on-the-job experience and strengthen skills required by employers. This experience, plus the references and contacts developed, will be very useful when looking for employment.
Co-op is a four to six credit package. The student’s co-op experience will be in their desired field or in a field that they are re-training for. Possible work placements and positions include office assistant, customer service, accountant/bookkeeper, marketing, teaching, social work, web design, computer programing and networking, mechanical, chemical, electrical, civil and architectural engineering positions and many more.
New Students:
To apply for all Co-operative Education programs, new students must complete an assessment at Yorkdale to determine whether they are ready for a work placement. The assessment takes place during registration.
