Registration Information at Yorkdale Adult Learning Centre

    If you want to register in any of these courses, you must:

    • come to Student Services between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm  beginning on August 28, 2006 to pick up a registration information letter and package. Registration will continue until classes are filled. Once classes have started registration is completed for the quadmester.

    This letter will give you:

    • a specific date and time for registration and assessment
    • information about the documents required to register at Yorkdale Adult Day School
    • for the RPN Diploma program, call (416) 395-6505 for registration information.
  1. Yorkdale has four, nine week terms in 2005/2006.
  2. Term 1 Sept.12-- Nov.14
    Term 2 Nov.17 - Feb.1
    Term 3 Feb. 6- Apr. 18
    Term 4 Apr. 24- June 26

  3. Courses are nine weeks in length. Classes run every day from Monday – Friday throughout the nine week period. All courses, unless otherwise designated, are two hours each day. You may take 1, 2 or 3 classes in one term. The schedule for classes is outlined below:

  5. The first day of classes for term 1 is Monday, September 11, 2006. It is very important that you attend the first day of all of your classes. Students who do not attend class on April 24, 2006 risk losing their space.
  6. In adult schools, course length is compressed from 110 hours to 90 hours.
    Therefore, it is very important to attend 100% of your classes, on time, to avoid missing important instructional time.
  7. Student Services will assess equivalency credits for courses taken outside of
    Ontario and maturity credits for time students were out of school, working or
    raising a family. Further information is available upon registration.
  8. The fees for Yorkdale are as follows:
  • $15.00 assessment and $5.00 TASA fee.
  • $40.00 activity fee for the year
  • some courses require fully refundable book deposits.
  • some Career Pathway Certificate Programs require students to purchase professional equipment and materials that students keep, e.g. in Hairstyling, Aesthetics, Personal Support Worker, Registered Practical Nurse Diploma programs.

    Note: All fees must be paid in exact cash. Yorkdale does not take cheques or credit cards. We do not have an ATM machine on site.
