What
You Will Learn:
Students write analyses of plot, purpose, and characteristics
in myths, fairy tales, and stories. They also analyze,

for different audiences - this reveals their understanding
of implicit and explicit meanings and of design.
In literature, students analyze relationships in short
stories, using well-constructed paragraph answers, and
write a multi-paragraph letter of advice to a character.
Students read passages with questions about thesis,
structure, and language, and write an essay, either
compare and contrast, or cause and effect, on literature
from the course.
